Nutella Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

Wet Ingredients:

  • ⅔ cup (150 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup Nutella
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ tsp kosher salt

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Add-ins

  • ½ cup chopped hazelnuts (toasted optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • Extra chocolate chips for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, Nutella & sugars
    Beat softened butter, Nutella, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).

  2. Add eggs & vanilla
    Add eggs and egg yolk one at a time. Mix in vanilla extract and salt until glossy.

  3. Mix dry ingredients
    In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.

  4. Combine wet & dry
    Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.

  5. Fold in mix-ins
    Stir in hazelnuts and chocolate chips. Save a few chips for topping if desired.

  6. Chill dough
    Refrigerate dough for at least 45 minutes to enhance texture and flavor.

  7. Preheat oven
    Set oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  8. Shape and top
    Scoop 2 tbsp dough per cookie. Roll into balls and place 2 inches apart. Add extra chocolate chips on top if using.

  9. Bake
    Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers still soft.

  10. Cool & serve
    Let cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Best enjoyed warm!
